Kerala – it’s Wilderness

Kerala, whose native habitat consists of wet evergreen rainforests at lower elevations and highland deciduous and semi-evergreen forests in the east, is subject to a humid tropical climate. However, significant variations in terrain and elevation have resulted in a land whose biodiversity registers as among the worlds most significant. Most of Kerala’s significantly biodiversity tracts of wilderness lie in the evergreen forests of its easternmost districts.

Itinerary: 3 Night and 4 Days

Day 1
Cochin

Cochin-Marine-DriveUpon arrival in Cochin International Airport/Railway Station you will be welcomed by your Lifeline Holidays representative and transferred to your hotel in Cochin.

Cochin, is a major port city on the south west coast of India famously known as the queen of the Arabian Sea. A city rich in culture and history, Cochin has a lot to offer in terms of sightseeing. Fort Kochi, a small, quaint town with Chinese fishing nets, Jewish synagogue, Mattancherry Palace, and St Francis Church, is famous for its European influences. Enjoy an evening of Kathakali Dance and overnight stay at the hotel.

Note: Jewish synagogue and Mattancherry Palace will be closed on all Fridays & Saturdays.

Day 2
Munnar

Munnar-NeelakurinjiThis morning we depart for Munnar, driving through a beautiful countryside carpeted with lush tea gardens and hills converging with clouds. After checking into the hotel, an evening of sightseeing in Munnar’s most popular spots such as Mattuppetty, Echo point and Tea Museum, etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3
Thekkady

Thekkady-ElephantsToday we depart for Thekkady. Thekkady is known for its spice-scented plantations and has one of the finest Wildlife reserves in India – the Periyar Wildlife sanctuary, where you can have the rare opportunity to view wildlife at a close range. One of the great attractions of Periyar, is the herd of wild elephants that come out to play. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 4
Cochin

Airport-Railway-ThumbToday we return to Cochin and and bid farewell to you in Cochin Airport/Railway Station with the hope of your return.
